PeaceHealth is seeking a Clinical Pain Management Pharmacy Specialist Lead for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position!

**Offering Relocation Assistance**

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services, this position is responsible for managing the pharmacotherapy of complex, critically ill patients. This is an advanced practice, complex care Pharmacotherapist. This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines are met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter experts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assigns work; plans and manages priorities; provides technical assistance; oversees staff schedules; monitors quality of work; monitors team projects; mentors staff; provides constructive feedback; oversees staff training; ensures quality improvement; provides leadership feedback on staff performance; and assists with goal setting for the team.
  • Provides consultative services to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff.
  • Ensures appropriate drug therapy for complex patients.
  • Implements and monitors clinical protocols and guidelines and enhancing the delivery of evidence-based medicine.
  • Provides drug-therapy related education and training to team members.
  • Serves on/provides consultation to hospital committees as requested/is appropriate.
  • Collaborates on research initiatives.
  • Documents clinical activities and outcomes.
  • Provides prescribed medications and compounds according to professional standards and practices.
  • Participates in quality initiatives to enhance pharmaceutical care.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. (BScPharm) or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Pharm.D or BSc Pharmacy with ACCP recognized Board Certification or successful completion of a Post-Graduate Year Two (PGY2) residency or fellowship with clinical practice experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of three years of advanced pharmacotherapy specialist practice in a clinical pharmacy setting with primary focus on direct patient care, medication management, consulting and teaching preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice in intended area(s) of specialty, including related equipment, techniques, practices and procedures.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current licensed registered Pharmacist/Clinical Pharmacist in the state in which you will be working
  • ACCP-recognized Board Certification or PGY2 residency preferred.

REGION/LOCATION SPECIFIC NOTES

  • CN –St. John’s Medical Center Pharmacy – Pain Management Program: must have current DEA licensure or eligible to be licensed within 30 days of hire. Completion of PGY2 residency specializing in Pain Management preferred.
