PeaceHealth is seeking a Acupuncturist - Hospice for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

Job Summary

Provides individualized, safe and efficient care to patients working within the scope of practice as an Acupuncturist. Assesses symptom for appropriateness of acupuncture, administer treatment, and evaluate response. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization.

Details of the position

1. Assess patients who may benefit from application of evidence-based acupuncture.
2. Provide or arrange appropriate interventions consistent with hospice policy, physician orders and the interdisciplinary plan of care.
3. Administer acupuncture when ordered by a physician to alleviate symptoms and distress in the final stages of life.
4. Accurately assess and communicate patient/family progress and needs to others involved in care.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Graduate of a National Certification Council for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) accredited school.
• Experience in end-of-life care preferred.
• Maintain License in acupuncture in the state in which the caregiver will be practicing.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license plus proof of auto insurance required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

St Joseph Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

• Work requires fairly light physical exertion from 34 to 65% of the time.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
• Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids or sharp items.
• Job duties occasionally require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail (less than 34% of work time).
