PeaceHealth is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician LICSW - Family Practice for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. Hourly compensation is $35.67 - $53.50, hiring rate dependent on qualifications and professional experience.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Clinician is a core member of the collaborative care team providing integrated behavioral health services in primary care clinics. Working with the patient’s medical provider (PCP), a psychiatric consultant, and the larger primary care team, provides care coordination and brief treatment, supporting patients on an assigned patient caseload.

Participates in diagnosis and treatment planning; coordinating treatment; providing proactive follow-up of treatment response; alerting the PCP when the patient is not improving; facilitating communication with the psychiatric consultant regarding treatment changes; offering brief treatment using evidence-based techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and problem-solving treatment.

Details of the position

  1. Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders. Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care.
  2. Evaluates and provides interventions to improve a patient’s cognitive, social, vocational, spiritual, and emotional functioning, utilizing natural and community supports when possible.
  3. Provides urgent/crisis evaluations, interventions, and safety planning.
  4. Together with consumer and natural supports, identifies key problems, strengths, and resources to be addressed in the treatment plan.
  5. Provide or facilitate in-clinic or outside referrals to evidence-based psychosocial treatments as clinically indicated.
  6. Participate in regularly scheduled consultation with the psychiatrist and communicate resulting treatment recommendations to the patient’s medical provider.
  7. Systematically track treatment response in a registry and monitor patients (in person, by video, or by telephone) for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications.
  8. Support psychotropic medication management with supervision of psychiatrist as prescribed by medical providers, focusing on treatment adherence monitoring, side effects, and effectiveness of treatment.
  9. May provide clinical supervision to masters’ and bachelors’ level clinicians, LSWAIC candidates and MSW interns.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Masters’ degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work License (LICSW) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at date of hire.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in behavioral health setting.
