PeaceHealth is seeking an Executive Director Foundation for a Full Time, Day position.

Compensation is $108,638.40 – $162,968.80; hiring rate dependent on qualifications and professional experience.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

JOB SUMMARY

Embedded in the community, the Executive Director Foundation for PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center serves as a strategist and resource for foundation fundraising and will partner with the hospital’s administrators, medical physicians and caregivers to identify, cultivate and steward donors. The Director works closely with foundation board members to maximize their potential in giving of their time, talent and financial resources to PeaceHealth. This role manages a team and carries a major gift portfolio with multi million gift goals for the fiscal year.

PeaceHealth St. John is located in Longview Washington and is the area’s sole community hospital and is a Level III trauma center providing dozens of medical specialty services and programs including emergency, trauma, heart, behavioral health, bone and joint, cancer, birthing and women’s services. Serving the community’s healthcare needs for more than 75 years, PeaceHealth St. John is a community-governed, nonprofit organization established by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in 1943. Today, as one of the community’s largest employers, PeaceHealth employs approximately 1.5% of Cowlitz County’s population.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Leads the development of programs and strategies to meet annual financial goals.
  2. Identifies, cultivates and stewards personal contact with prospects to develop their interest in major gift programs and provide guidance on any gift related opportunity.
  3. Builds, educates and stewards the board structure that will successfully implement the organizational strategic plan.
  4. Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, hospital administrators, caregivers and grateful patients to advance PeaceHealth’ s mission, vision and strategic plan and Foundation’s goals.
  5. Supports a portfolio of 60 to 75 major gift prospects and donors.
  6. Designs and delivers written and verbal presentations to donors and prospects.
  7. Manages day-to-day operations of foundation, supervising staff and directing activities and projects.
  8. Assists in developing a long-range strategic plan and develops an annual business plan to meet the goals established in the strategic plan.
  9. Provides 24-hour coverage for members of the Benefactors program on a rotating basis.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Certification as a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) is preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible fundraising experience on a professional/managerial level preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Record of securing six and seven figure gifts

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Ability to travel required.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of fundraising practices required.
  • Ability to secure leadership gifts ($1 million +).
  • Ability to recruit and manage key volunteers
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with staff, hospital management, community leaders, hospital contributors and potential contributors in both professional and social settings
  • Ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands, short time frames and minimum supervision
  • Leadership in building a team and an organization that will assume responsibility and accountability for achieving both the mission and financial/operational objectives of the Foundation
