PeaceHealth is seeking a full-time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to support our teams in Southwest Washington! This unique opportunity will be supporting two outpatient practices in Vancouver & Longview, Washington. A Child’s Place in Longview and Cascade Park Behavioral Health in Vancouver serve families and children with behavioral and emotional problems with psychotherapy, psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management in Southwest Washington. Here and in the other Lower Columbia communities served by PeaceHealth, you can enjoy the familiarity of small-town life, the challenge of working in a first-class regional medical facility, and the fun of living close to the beach, close to the mountains, and close to the big-city attractions.

Position Highlights:


  • Schedule: Monday – Friday and no call requirements
  • 3 days per week in Longview and 2 days per week in Vancouver
  • A hybrid (partly work from home) model is encouraged
  • The ideal candidate will support integrated behavioral health following the AIMS model
  • Evaluation/Assessments which target high-risk families and children
  • Psychiatric Evaluations
  • Development of Treatment Plans in collaboration with other child serving agencies through multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Parent Education Services through group structure based on community needs
  • Medication Management in cooperation with Primary Care Physicians and Pediatricians

  • Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 22-bed state of the art locked down unit, caring for adults and seniors struggling with issues of emotional distress. Our program is guided by a philosophy of strength-based treatment.

Lake Sacajawea, directly across from St. John Medical Center is in the heart of Longview.   • Our community is just a short one hour drive to the Pacific Ocean.
  • Longview and the neighboring community of Kelso have a combined population of ~60,000 residents.
  • Our area has many locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs and national chains such as Target, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart. Along with a variety of grocery shopping options and April through October the Farmers Market is open.
  • Golf is also a popular sport in the area at the Longview Country Club, Mint Valley, and Three Rivers Golf Course.
  • The Cowlitz Indian Tribe, a federally recognized tribe, of Cowlitz people, is headquartered in Longview.
