PeaceHealth is seeking a Optician - Optical Shop for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

Hourly compensation is $24.35 – $36.53; hiring rate dependent on qualifications, professional experience, and/or work location.

Responsible for assisting the patients in the selection of eyeglass frames and lenses that are appropriate to their individual prescriptions and cosmetic needs.

Details of the Position:

  1. Assists patients in selection and fitting of frames and lenses.
  2. Interprets prescriptions and orders lenses according to prescriptions.
  3. Adjusts and repairs eyewear.
  4. Maintains all paperwork and billing as required.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of one year related experience preferred.

  • ABOC certification required or must obtain within one year of hire.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and other relevant PC applications.
  • Ability to use office equipment and phone systems.
  • Excellent customer services skills.

PHMG– PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work requires normal amounts of physical effort up to 33% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Duties require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail (more than 65% of work time).
