PeaceHealth RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer - Echocardiology for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. Hourly compensation is $39.24 – $64.08; hiring rate dependent on qualifications, professional experience, work location, and/or terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsible for performing diagnostic and special procedures ultrasonography in accordance with established policies and procedures. Must use independent judgment in applying knowledge of clinical cardiology, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize the echocardiographic evaluation, tailoring and expanding the exam to ensure comprehensiveness and diagnostic accuracy.

About the position:

1. Performs prescribed ultrasound procedures using a variety of equipment to get preliminary echocardiographic measurements. Must be competent at the performance of adult echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and contrast studies.
2. Must follow department imaging protocols, appropriately acquire all echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician when necessary.
3. Prepare, supply, and equip ultrasound rooms to meet specific cardiologist and physician requirements for procedures.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required.
•  A minimum of six months full-time cardiac internship strongly preferred.
• One year experience as cardiac sonographer preferred.
• RDCS, Adult or RCS credential required.
• Oregon State licensure in Adult Cardiac Sonography required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.
