PeaceHealth is seeking a Stores Coordinator Assistant - Kitchen for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. Hourly compensation is $18.30 – $27.46; hiring rate dependent on qualifications, professional experience, and/or work location.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing material handling for Food Services to include, but not limited to: placing orders; monthly inventory count; stocking and storing products; receiving deliveries; establishing inventory controls and par levels for supplies; and responding to stock-outs in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Ordering, rotating, stocking and receiving supplies.
  2. Conducts monthly physical inventory counts. Conducts routine inventory and stock evaluations.
  3. Managing defective products and verifying credit or replacement.
  4. Filling floor stock requisitions for hospital satellites.
  5. Building orders and making predictions on consumption.
  6. Interacting with vendors.
  7. Determining stocking location of new products and product flow in kitchen.
  8. Utilizing HACCP guidelines of food storage.
  9. Operating pallet lift jacks, hand trucks as required.
  10. Performing other duties as assigned.
  11. Maintain sanitation, cleanliness and organization of all storage areas, walk-ins and storerooms, including FNS satellite storage areas,

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Experience in institutional food service setting preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Washington Food Handlers Card

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to perform math calculations in order to place vendor orders.
  • Ability to remember/track where products are slotted.

UNIVERSITY DISTRICT PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work may require moderate physical exertion more than 65% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Work requires frequent exposure to skin or lung irritants; extreme cold or heat; sharp instruments such as kitchen knives, scalpels, etc.; or dangerous equipment.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
