PeaceHealth RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a EKG Technician for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. Hourly compensation is $17.65 – $31.36; hiring rate dependent on qualifications, professional experience, work location, and/or terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Operates electrocardiograph equipment (which may include treadmill tests, ECGs, Holter monitors, etc.) to record the electromotive variations in heart muscle to provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments.

Details about the position:

  1. Performs EKGs, and may perform Holter monitors, event monitors and ambulatory blood pressure monitors on patient.
  2. Processes and edits EKGs.
  3. Charts confirmed EKGs. Records and files information related to tests performed.
  4. Cleans, adjusts and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • One year of prior direct patient care experience or completion of an EKG training program is required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
  • Certification as a Cardiographic Technician within 3 years of hire preferred.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
