PeaceHealth is seeking a Program Coordinator,  Volunteers Home and Community for a Part Time, 0.50 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $25.83 – $38.74. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Responsible for the development and coordination of the Home and Community Volunteer Program in a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to support patients and families facing a terminal illness. Creates a compassionate, committed team within Home and Community. Responsible for overall organization, operation, personnel and coordination of the volunteer program utilizing independent and collaborative judgment in decision-making and demonstrating leadership and problem-solving.

DETAILS OF THE POSITION: 

  1. Recruits, trains, supervises, retains and grows the number of volunteers in the program. Develops and coordinates volunteer programs to support seamless delivery of care to patients, the bereaved, and those who support them.
  2. Coordinates volunteers to ensure volunteer coverage meets the needs of patients/families and staff, and meets the state and federal regulatory requirements including appropriate recordkeeping, tracking and documentation.
  3. Coordinates the development and implementation of team orientation and ongoing team training of volunteers.
  4. Participates in community and fundraising activities, including public speaking and education, to promote community awareness of the volunteer program.
  5. Performs effective communication by documenting all volunteer patient contacts in electronic medical record in accordance with standards.

WHAT YOU BRING: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job required.
  • Minimum of two years related experience within a volunteer program is required.
  • Valid driver’s license (OR, WA or AK as applicable) and proof of auto insurance required.
  • American Heart Association BLS is required.

PeaceHealth has a medical and religious exemption request process for those that are unable to receive the COVID-19 primary vaccine series due to medical/religious reasons. For caregivers that will be working in Oregon there is a personal vaccine exemption form that may be requested.
