Obstetrical Surgical Technologist - Labor & Delivery for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $25.85 – $43.85. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

We are a Family First Center that has a Level II Special Care Nursery that serves anywhere between 1800 -2 000 deliveries annually. This position touches all areas of Women & Children Services: Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, Special Care and Pediatrics.

Details of the position:

  1. Arrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.
  2. Understand and apply the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
  3. Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
  4. Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
  5. Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
  6. Maintain unit supplies by requisitioning and receiving supplies then stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs. Inventory control.
  7. Participates in all safety initiatives. Adheres to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.

What you bring:

  • Registered Surgical Technologist required at date of hire
  • (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist license preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
  • One year experience as a surgical technologist with obstetrical and gynecologic surgeries preferred.

ST JOSEPH PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work requires moderate physical exertion at least 66% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Work requires frequent exposure to skin or lung irritants extreme cold or heat sharp instruments or, dangerous equipment; reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
