This is an exempt level, full time position that will provided leadership for the night shift.  The role will be comprised of 4-10 hour shifts.  The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $52.23 – $78.35.

What you bring:

  • Current Washington or Multistate license required by date of hire.
  • BSN or enrollment in a BSN program with expected graduation w/in 3 years required.
  • Charge experience within the last 2 years.
  • 3 years of applicable ED RN experience.
  • American Heart Association/American Red Cross BLS & ACLS for Healthcare Providers required by date of hire.

  • PHSW is 450-bed tertiary-level hospital with Level II Trauma Center serving all Southwest Washington – one of only three trauma centers in the Portland area. 
  • 52 bed ED with 5 resuscitation bays, designated locked behavioral health unit, and helipad for Life flight services.
  • Regional Cardiac and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • 85,000 annual visits to the ED.
  • Fantastic team environment: collaborative practice between RN’s, EDTs, Providers, and other modalities; 24/7 ED Pharmacist, Respiratory Therapy, and Social Work coverage

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse Practice to provide individualized, safe, and efficient care to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Proactively implement measures to promote a safety climate on the unit, considering the inter-relationship of people, tools, and environment in which are is provided.
  • Provide leadership, management, and communication skills to department.
  • Assist Nurse Manager in planning, recommendation, and implementation of clinical service delivery. Recommend policy changes which enhance nursing ability to achieve top quartile performance.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with the staff supervision, counseling, and documentation of personnel actions.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with the evaluation of work performance and performance assessments.
  • Promote, establish, and maintain open communication.
  • Assist Nurse Manager with budget monitoring.
  • Assist with the supervision and direction of the department Clinical Educator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
