PeaceHealth is seeking a Food Service Assistant Lead - Nutrition Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $18.05 – $30.97. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks which includes preparation, service, clean-up, and delivery of food products in support of hospital food and catering service operations using HACCP guidelines for safe food handling. Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met, and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter expert.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
  2. Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve and store food following applicable guidelines.
  3. Operate dish machine, wash pots, and perform heavy cleaning duties following safety and sanitation guidelines.
  4. Transport equipment, food, supplies and trash as directed.
  5. May act as cafeteria cashier.
  6. Follow guidelines for assigned station set-up and clean-up.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of one-year previous work experience preferred.
  • Retail food service experience preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Valid Food Handlers Card.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation.
  • Ability to work well with others.

RIVERBEND PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work may require moderate physical exertion more than 65% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Work requires frequent exposure to skin or lung irritants; extreme cold or heat; sharp instruments such as kitchen knives, scalpels, etc.; or dangerous equipment.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
