PeaceHealth is seeking a Radiology Technologist - Orthopedics for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position in beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $36.95-$55.43. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

We're looking forward to welcoming a self-motivated, high-energy X-Ray Technologist to our friendly and supportive Orthopedic team! We work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. These great clinic hours offer plenty of time to play, too, in scenic Ketchikan, Alaska! This remote family- oriented community in southeast Alaska is just an hour and a half flight from Seattle. This is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts--gorgeous scenery, lots of opportunities for hiking, fishing and boating, and abundant wildlife. Our schools are excellent and our economy is strong! The position will prepare for and perform standard x-ray examinations and may perform fluoroscopic procedures, portable examinations and surgical x-ray procedures. Utilizes proper positioning and selection of appropriate technical factors using various radiographic equipment to obtain optimal results. 

Details about the position:

  1. Prepare, supply, and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
  2. Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.
  3. Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam.
  4. Perform most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
  5. Performs x-ray examinations applying appropriate infection control and radiation safety measures.
  6. Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.
  7. May perform surgical x-ray examinations, will utilize appropriate radiation safety measures and adhering to AORN standards.
  8. Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers’ scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration. May also perform other duties as assigned. 

What you bring:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated venipuncture competency.
  • PACS/RIS knowledge is required.
  • ImageCast/CareCast experience is preferred.
  • ARRT (R) Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • Certification/Registration/Licensure as required by the State.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
