PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. This position is for the upcoming clinic in Lynden, WA.

The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $23.93 - $33.07 for MA and $25.59 - $39.28 for LPN. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

This clinic is located 25 minutes from Bellingham, WA. The idyllic town of Lynden, Washington is known for being Washington State’s largest Dutch settlement and the largest producer of raspberries in the nation. Established in 1874, Lynden is also known for its rich history, which lives on in the city and its businesses.

In collaboration with the healthcare team, this role will assist physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within their scope of practice.

Details of the position:

  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable. Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
  • Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
  • Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.

  • Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
  • May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
  • May provide phone screening of patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
  • May transport specimens.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant program, or accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program required.
  • Current Washington State MA certification or LPN licensure required.
  • Unlicensed upcoming graduate of a Medical Assistant or LPN will also be considered.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required at date of hire.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. (Required)
  • Ability to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members. (Required)
  • Proficiency in the use of computer and office equipment. Familiarity with desktop computing tools, multi-line phone systems and insurance billing preferred. (Required)
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks. (Required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. (Required)
  • Understand the principles of asepsis if applicable. (Required)
