RN New Grad – Nurse Residency Program, Sacred Heart Hospitals (Riverbend (Springfield, OR), and Peace Harbor (Florence))

PeaceHealth is accepting applications for our upcoming Nurse Residency Program at Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend & University District in Springfield and Peace Harbor in Florence Oregon. Next cohort group will have start dates beginning in April and continuing through October to accommodate varying graduating classes. This is an exciting opportunity for new graduate nurses to enter a program providing technical excellence as well as nursing excellence, compassionate care for our patients and community. The Nurse Residency Program provides a comprehensive transition to practice program offering interactive, evidence-based curriculum designed to build clinical skills and competency in patient outcomes, leadership and the professional nurse role. This is a 12-month program reflecting the Mission, Vision and Values of PeaceHealth.

To qualify for this program you must be a new graduate RN who has been licensed for less than 12 months with less than 6 months of Acute Care experience as a Registered Nurse.

To be considered for the program you must include the following when submitting your application:

  • Completed Online Application
  • Resume
  • BLS Card
  • Ability to work 32 to 40 hours per week.
  • Available to work 8 or 12 hour shifts.
  • Available to work day, evening, or night shifts.
  • Flexible to work any day of the week as schedules rotate.
  • Able to participate in all program activities throughout the 12 month period.
  • Signing a two year commitment agreement.
  • Clinical Instructor and employment references will be required.
  • Positions available vary per program and departments available may vary from posting date to offer date.


  • Required: Current Oregon RN license required prior to start date. BLS from the American Heart Association. We encourage you to apply for the Oregon RN license at time of application. For those who are coming from out of state, before taking the NCLEX outside of Oregon, please speak to the Oregon Board of Nursing on the process to transfer your license in a timely manner.
  • Education: BSN strongly preferred. If ADN graduate, commitment to complete a BSN program within 3 years is preferred.
