PeaceHealth is seeking a Supervisor Respiratory Care for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Night position. 

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $48.66 – $73.00. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

The Supervisor Respiratory Care is responsible for operational oversight and supervision of Respiratory Care staff. Monitoring overall services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and stewardship of resources. Responsible for staffing and scheduling.

Details of the position:

  • Links mission into day-to-day operations focusing on meeting organization and departmental targets; monitoring budget variances; recommending or developing plans for improvement, and assuring regulatory compliance.
  • Recommends selection of staff, monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of staff. Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop staff, provides meaningful and constructive feedback.
  • Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the department. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promotes problem identification, facilitates resolution and follows up and communicates with Director/staff as necessary.
  • Completes weekly payroll process and associated paperwork as required.
  • Acts as a liaison for physicians and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Accredited Program Required: Respiratory Care Program. 2-year AMA-approved Program or approved alternative education as outlined in the state regulatory requirements and
  • Required: Must pass the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 6 months of hire. (Not applicable to PeaceHealth Southwest Clinic setting)
  • Minimum of 3 years Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist working in critical care and
  • Preferred: Previous supervisory/leadership experience
  • Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner - Oregon (Oregon Requirement) and
  • Required within 6 months: Registered Respiratory Therapist and
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support and
  • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Preferred: Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Required: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Department / Location Specific Note

    Sacred Heart Medical Center - RiverBend:

    • Must maintain RRT certification (e.g. CEU’s, etc.); exceptions for RCP’s noted above.
    • Must be able to set up, operate, troubleshoot respiratory related equipment in a quick and efficient manner. This may include NICU or Adult equipment.
    • Must have thorough knowledge of Respiratory Care equipment, policies, and procedures.
    • Thorough knowledge of Bronchoscopy procedures and equipment preferred.
    • With direction from the department Manager, this position develops and implements educational plans based on identified needs. This position will serve as unit educator with responsibilities for developing and maintaining staff competencies on an annual basis.
