PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager Desktop Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $44.25 – $66.37. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Position is responsible for managing the coordination of the day-to-day activities for Fields Services and is accountable for the integration of new end user technologies. Operating in a fast paced, high-volume environment, position is responsible for results in the areas of costs, supply inventories, methodology and staffing. This position upholds expectations for operational performance, quality, successful service environment and regulatory compliance and serves as a role model in delivering exceptional customer service, creating a learning environment that encourages innovative thought leadership and developing relationships across divisions and levels of leadership to foster collaboration and effectively resolve escalated issues.

Details of the Position:

  • Determines department priorities, monitors team productivity, and takes responsibility for the performance management of assigned staff and staff development, including motivating, directing, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action.
  • Manages the development and adherence to department work instructions, standard operating procedures, and processes to ensure clear understanding and support compliance.
  • Participates in the TSP organization’s manager-on-call rotation and responds to issue escalations both on and off business hours.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of system-wide vendor policies related to vendor and supplier selection and management of vendor relationships for hardware, software, and services to ensure optimal terms and pricing.
  • Assists with budget management by contributing to capital and operational budget planning, expense control, monitoring budgetary compliance, monitoring team productivity and scheduling.
  • Supports and enforces PeaceHealth’s change control processes for desktop, printer and telephony moves and workflow changes, additions, and changes. Participates as required in reviewing and/or approving changes initiated by other departments.
  • Manages hiring and orientation of full-time and contracted staff for assigned team.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving processes and takes initiative in leading the change and helping others to adapt. Identifies and evaluates opportunities to apply technology to add value to the business.
  • Helps others make decisions that are in the long-term interest of the organization, patients, and caregivers.
  • Travels to other PeaceHealth locations to assist with setup, support or maintenance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring: 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Computer Science or
  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Information Systems or related technical field, or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the candidate with the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the job

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years Required: Experience in technical support, including troubleshooting desktop PC’s running MS Windows 10 or higher operating systems, printers, VOIP Phone, and other peripheral hardware, desktop software configuration in a networked client/server environment, and/or technical interface with Windows Server and
  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Leadership experience and
  • Required: Experience in project leadership of key desktop management initiatives such as software rollouts and hardware upgrades and
  • Required: Experience providing desktop support services in an Epic environment

Credentials

  • Preferred: A+ Certification ITIL, Network+ Certification, Server+ Certification. or
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and/or Microsoft Certified Professional

Skills

  • Effective at conflict resolution, time management, process analysis, cost/benefit analysis, risk management and budget management. (Required)
  • Strong Knowledge of MS Office and Backoffice client applications. (Required)
  • Solid understanding of current technology and trends in information management. (Required)
  • Ability to build rapport with people at multiple levels in the organization. (Required)
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and precisely, verbally or in writing, with all levels of personnel, including senior management. (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
