Peace Harbor Medical Center and clinics are located on the beautiful Oregon Coast. Peace Harbor Hospital opened its doors to the local community in 1989. PeaceHealth Peace Harbor is a critical access hospital and Level III trauma center. It offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including general medicine, women’s health, maternity care, emergency services, general surgery, orthopedics, mental health, rehabilitation, and diabetes care. Peace Harbor’s primary service region encompasses the rural communities of Florence, Mapleton, Swisshome, and Westlake in Lane County, Waldport and Yachats in Lincoln County and Reedsport in Douglas County.
The CMO Peace Harbor serves as a member of the local Executive Team and participates in the design and development of the organization's strategic plan and vision. Works closely with the CAO in a physician/administrator dyad formation to lead quality, patient safety and patient experience of care in the community, collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the facility stays compliant with regulatory requirements. Serves as a physician who represents clinical practices for the executive team. Works closely with medical staff leadership/committees, PHMG executives and providers to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives. Responsible for the integration of clinical quality and demonstrated best clinical practices into medical staff operations, evaluates the development of new and continuation of existing services, investigating future clinical technologies/information systems and evaluating their impact on providers' practices, patient safety and patient family experience. Creates a patient-centered environment that is highly satisfying to providers and caregivers. Responsible for managing medical community and interdepartmental relations, coaching/mentoring physician leaders and managing teams to improve team leadership effectiveness. Responsible for developing provider relationships and clinical integration activity across PeaceHealth. Participates in and is a member of the system Physician Executive Council. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) have the authority and responsibility to oversee patient care services provided on their hospital and to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $319,100 – $397,800. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, seniority, etc.

PeaceHealth requires a completed Primary Vaccine Series (e.g., 2 dose monovalent Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax series or 1 dose J&J vaccine series) or be Up to Date (receiving the most recent Pfizer/Moderna bivalent vaccine/booster) for COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date. PeaceHealth has a medical and religious exemption request process for those that are unable to receive the COVID-19 primary vaccine series due to medical/religious reasons.
