PeaceHealth is seeking RNs for our Emergency Department Fellowship Program (0.9 FTE, non-exempt).

The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $50.21-$74.61. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

**Nurses selected for this program will be obligated to work in the PHSW Emergency Department for a minimum of 3,640 hours holding 0.6 FTE or higher, from the end date of successful completion of the training program. Failure to fulfill the months and FTE requirement will require that the RN reimburse PHSW for up to $10,000 of education expenses. **

  • Shift length and hours are variable during the program.
  • Our program is designed for RNs looking to transition into Emergency Nursing.
  • Our Fellowship is a 6 month program including classroom education time as well as one on one preceptorship on the floor.
  • This is a full time staff RN position with pay & benefits.
  • Projected start date is late January.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Provides direct patient care in compliance with professional nursing practice and unit standards.
  • Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
  • Essential functions include assessing, planning, and implementing patient care needs, documenting patient care in EMR according to established standards, delegating care as appropriate, ensuring own professional effectiveness through education and professional development, and maintaining established hospital policies, procedures, and safety programs.

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
  • Current Washington/MSL RN license by date of hire
  • BLS by date of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS and TNCC required within 1 year of hire. 

ORIENTATION:

  • 6 months of classroom and floor time with preceptor
  • ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications incorporated into program if not already certified 

Working Conditions

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
