About the Role:

This floor will focus on Cardiovascular, Trauma and Surgical ICU patients.  Here, you'll play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to critically ill patients. You will utilize your clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs, ensuring accurate documentation and collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team. This full-time (0.90 FTE) night shift position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Accurately document patient care in the healthcare record.
• Direct and delegate care to other team members.
• Continuously pursue professional development and education.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Management of ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP.
• Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures.
• Nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting.
• Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents.
• Completion of complex neurological assessments/scales.

Qualifications:

• Education: Accredited School of Nursing (Required), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 36 months) continuous critical care RN experience or completion of a critical care residency/fellowship program. (New grad RNs considered for residency/fellowship program. If new grad, the RN will also be required to participate in the Nurse Residency Program.)
• Credentials: Registered Nurse - Washington (Required), BLS and ACLS (Required at hire, ACLS within 6 months of hire for residency/fellowship position), NIHSS Certification (within 6 months of hire), CCRN Certification (Preferred)
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development, ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships, ability to support medical center philosophy and procedures, basic computer skills.
