Are you an experienced Perioperative Nursing Leader who can elevate clinical services through collaborative leadership and expertise?
PeaceHealth is seeking a Nursing Director for our Perioperative Service Line at Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. This is a full-time exempt position that will provide leadership and direct nursing practice and clinical operations within the OR, Surgical Pre-Op, Same Day Surgery, Recovery, Anesthesia, Short Stay, Gastro-Endo, Anesthesia Pre-Op Clinic, and Sterile Processing.
Situated in Vancouver, Washington, Southwest Medical Center is a 450 bed level II trauma center hospital that is part of PeaceHealth, a non-profit mission driven healthcare system. In conjunction with our clinics in Vancouver and surrounding communities, we offer extensive specialty care, serving an impressive annual patient base of over 280,000 individuals in southwest Washington. Job Summary:
This role is responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing a high-performing clinical services and professional nursing practice environment that ensures the delivery of exceptional patient care with a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and high-quality outcomes. The Director drives continuous improvement efforts to enhance service, operations, and the overall patient experience while ensuring seamless coordination of clinical support services. Additionally, this role fosters a positive work environment that supports caregivers, promotes growth, enhances communication, ensures collaboration, and strengthens job satisfaction.
Serving as a key liaison between medical staff, system programs, and hospital operations, the Director facilitates collaborative professional relationships that contribute to a healing and supportive environment for both patients and healthcare teams. This position upholds the organization’s mission and core values, enforces compliance with nursing policies and procedures, and holds staff accountable for meeting industry best practices and regulatory standards.
In collaboration with the Vice President of Surgical and Cardiovascular Services and system peers, the Director leads efforts to advance, develop, refine, and innovate nursing clinical delivery operations. The role ensures that quality and performance improvement initiatives meet established targets and that all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The Director is also responsible for maintaining continuous survey readiness to uphold regulatory and accreditation standards within assigned areas.
