PeaceHealth seeks a Director – Magnet Program Springfield, Oregon 

We seek a Healthcare Director–Magnet Program who has a proven track record for:

Directing, controlling and being accountable for the strategic and tactical development, implementation, sustainability, and maintenance of an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program in collaboration with a System Senior Director of Professional Nursing.

Essential Job functions:

  • The Director will lead designated Magnet initiatives promoting clinical innovation, research and evidence-based practices, integrating knowledge and creating a spirit of inquiry and a culture that supports the bedside scientist.
  • The Director provides leadership and oversight to promote nursing excellence and coordination of Riverbend’s Nursing shared governance, professional development and the advancement of patient care excellence through research, evidence-based practice and quality improvements.
  • The Director oversees the Magnet Accreditation Program as the Magnet Project Director to include writing the Magnet document, submitting document and preparing for and managing the Magnet site visit.Coordinates submission of annual monitoring reports and all aspects of the re-designation process.
  • Ensures the development of a Nurse Research/Evidence Based Practice program.
  • Serves as a leader, mentor and coach for nurses at all levels in their understanding and practical application of Magnet standards.Serves as a liaison between nursing leadership, inter-professional colleagues and the community.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities by acting as a team member, leader, coach and facilitator.Establishes process for caregiver engagement and collaborates with the CNO and Director of Processional Practice for professional growth opportunities within Nursing Services.
  • Qualifications for the Director-Magnet Program role include:

  • Current RN license in Oregon.
  • MSN with an emphasis in clinical practice and/or nursing leadership is required.
  • DNP or Nursing PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in acute care setting in varied clinical, educational, and administrative roles.
