PeaceHealth is seeking New Grad RNs for our Graduate Nurse Residency Program.  Hourly compensation starts at $35.48, more depending on experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for new graduates to train in a specialty area where passion and nursing excellence come together. The Nurse Residency Program transitions new graduate nurses to competent nursing practice supported by evidence-based curriculum reflecting our Mission, Vision, and Values. Our 12-month program focuses on leadership, patient outcomes and professionalism. 

To qualify for this program you must be a new graduate RN who has been licensed for less than 12 months with less than 6 months of Acute Care experience as an RN at time of application. 

To be considered for the program you must include/complete the following (incomplete applications will not be accepted) If you are interested in multiple PH locations, you must submit an application to each hopsital you are interested in:

  2. Cover Letter - This is your chance to tell us why Peacehealth, why Bellingham and a little bit about yourself!
  3. Online Application 
  4. Clinical Narrative - Submit a clinical narrative of 1 page or less. (This needs to be uploaded in the attachments section). A clinical narrative is a story about a clinical event or situation that was meaningful for you and taught you something about the role of a professional nurse. Some possible topics include: A specific clinical experience where your interventions made a difference in outcome for the patient A clinical experience that was especially challenging and how it impacted your practice A clinical situation that went differently than you expected.

Program Timeline / Step-by Step Process: 

  • April 2nd- May  7th– Screening Process. References requested via Skill Survey . This is an online reference tool. References must be completed NLT Monday, May 10th. Candidates will be asked to provide 4 professional references. Candidates will need the email addresses or cell phone numbers of these references to enter online. 
  • May 11-14- Interviews will be scheduled. All interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. No in person interviews will be available.
  • May 17th, 18th & 20th- Interviews will be held. 
  • Start Dates-We will be offering start dates in June 2021 through September 2021. New grads must have an active RN license by date of hire. Start dates are determined by looking at several factors- NCLEX, Licensing, relocation and department needs.
  • Residency Seminars to begin October 2021

Position Commitments: 

  • Ability to work 32 to 40 hours per week. 
  • Available to work 8, 10 or 12-Hour Shifts. 
  • Available to work, Day, Eve and Night Shifts 
  • Flexible to work any day of the week as schedules rotate. 
  • Able to participate in all program activities throughout the 12-month period. 
  • Clinical Instructor and employment references will be required. 
  • Willing to sign a 2 year commitment letter
  • New grads must remain in the department they are hired into for the 1st 18 months of employment per the Union contract.

Opportunities in the following departments may be offered (Residency openings vary each cohort) : Med/Surg, Emergency Department, ICU, ICU step down , OR, Float Pool and Behavorial Health
