PeaceHealth is seeking an LPN Clinic Lead in the Internal Medicine department for a Full Time, Variable position.  Hourly compensation starts at $26.31, more depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter expert.

Responsible for ensuring delivery of quality nursing care to clinic patients as directed by physicians and other healthcare providers. The Clinic LPN functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team and fulfills/shares the roles and responsibilities of rooming nurse, resource nurse, and clinical support nurse in the ambulatory patient care setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
  2. Assess and implement patient care under supervision. Prepares patient for examination.
  3. Provide direct patient care. Assists provider with examination and treatment of patient as directed.
  4. Under the oversight of provider, may be responsible for telephone triage using age specific triage protocol books and computerized resources.
  5. Document patient care in health record according to department standards.
  6. Obtains and conveys information to and from patients, pharmacies, and other providers as directed and supervised by a licensed provider; may obtain referral authorizations for treatment as directed by provider.
  7. Ensures own professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of two years clinical experience as an LPN required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current licensure as an LPN in the state in which nurse will be practicing.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Basic computer skills required including familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Must have cooperative working and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff.
  • Effective prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks at one time.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to function independently.

 PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less. Duties require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail (more than 65% of work time). Work requires normal amounts of physical effort up to 33% of the time.
