PeaceHealth is seeking a System Director Cancer Center Service Lines for a Full Time, Hybrid role. Must reside in Oregon, Washington, or Alaska.


This position is responsible for providing administrative and strategic leadership for cancer services across the PeaceHealth system and for planning, developing, and directing patient care programs in alignment with organizational goals and triple aim objectives.


  1. Works with System Cancer Care Operating Council members to plan, develop, implement and evaluate new patient care programs, services and practice models including identification of business objectives, capital and other resource needs, expected operating revenues and expenses, allocation of space and organization of program personnel and other operation components.
  2. Provides leadership for ensuring optimal and efficient staffing in all clinical settings and for care model redesign in cancer services for PeaceHealth. Supports clinical and administrative leaders in the three Networks to oversee and influence all hospital departments and clinics associated with cancer service delivery to achieve desired performance outcomes.
  3. Creates and monitors operating and governance model for cancer services; recommends changes to reporting structure, data reports and systems, processes and standards to achieve desired business and strategic outcomes in collaboration with System Finance, network operating directors, hospital COOs, managers, nurses, directors, department chairs and medical directors. This includes ensuring service line financial reporting is standardized across PeaceHealth.
  4. Builds positive working relationships across service line with a focus on physician and clinician engagement inclusive of all clinical stakeholders.
  5. Ensures knowledge of national benchmarks in financial performance, staffing, quality, and patient safety for cancer care programs. Ensures these benchmarks are met or exceeded.
  6. Supports network-based Cancer Service Line Medical Directors and Directors in developing operational and / or business plans that promote care quality optimization and efficiency. Works with System Services (PHMG, Quality, AST) to develop and implement tracking systems.
  7. Leads the System Cancer Care Operating Committee to develop strategic and long-term transformation plans for the effective transition to new care models and expanded geographic networks that better meet the needs of patients and communities.
  8. In collaboration with System Cancer Care Operations Council members; directs recruitment and evaluation of service line personnel.
  9. Leads continuous improvement efforts that promote a culture of safety and culture of excellence. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, system leaders, hospital leaders, department managers, staff, and customers that lead to measurable improvements in patient care outcomes, efficiency, customer service, and provider and staff engagement.
  10. Ensures regulatory compliance in all areas of responsibility.
  11. Monitors, communicates, and works to improve patient, physician, and staff satisfaction.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, or related field.


  • Min 10 years’ experience and success in leading and facilitating clinical departments in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Clinical experience preferred.


  • Excellent verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills, particularly with key stakeholder groups such as physicians, other clinicians, and quality improvement staff.
  • Strong customer service focus.


This position will be an integral part of the System Service Line Team and will be responsible for setting targets for all areas of responsibility. This role will be expected to work with and assist other System committee members to get to good outcomes for the whole organization. Under the supervision of System leadership, will make decisions affecting strategy, implementation and management of resources and will problem solve operating issues involving medical staff, nursing, and physician practices.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.​
