PeaceHealth is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant in the Optometry Clinic in Eugene, Oregon!

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.​

The Ophthalmic Assistant position offers a balanced lifestyle with a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM schedule. We are a mission-driven team focused on excellent, safe care for our valued patients. The providers are easy going and leadership is fantastic!

Our large practice offers a unique, collaborative team approach in providing excellent patient care (1 ophthalmologist, 2 optometrists, 5 technicians, 2 support staff, and 3 opticians).

You’ll be responsible for assisting the Ophthalmologist or Optometrist in providing office-based patient care, and independently performing patient testing within scope of practice. 


  • Current Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) from JCAHPO or Scribe Certification through American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS) OR Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) upon date of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) card upon date of hire

Working Conditions:

  • Work requires moderate physical exertion 34 to 65% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 80 lbs. or less.
  • Work requires frequent exposure to minor cold, heat, poor ventilation or sharp instruments. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids daily.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
