Job Description


PeaceHealth is seeking a Program Coordinator Volunteer Services - Volunteer Services for a Full Time, Day position.  Hourly compensation starts at $21.30, more depending on experience.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.


Responsible for developing and coordinating assigned activities and programs for the Volunteer Services department as requested by the Director. Delegates tasks as appropriate to support staff and volunteers to assure delivery of services to volunteers, hospital staff, and patients.


  1. Coordinates the recruitment, interviewing, screening, orientation scheduling, and supervision of volunteers for daily operations.
  2. recruitment, training, and supervising of volunteers.
  3. Develops new volunteer positions per department policy.
  4. Develops and implements annual volunteer in-service training and quarterly and annual volunteer appreciation events.
  5. Maintains communication with hospital/clinic staff for optimal volunteer utilization.
  6. Collects and maintains required records, data, reports, and statistics.
  7. Assists in planning and implementing program growth.
  8. Delegates work for support staff and volunteers to achieve program's goals.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.


  • Minimum of two years experience in coordinating agency volunteers, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Experience coordinating projects involving individuals and teams.
  • Previous experience as a volunteer required.


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to organize, problem-solve, and set priorities for work.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills including Microsoft Office applications.



  • Serves as Safety Officer for the department.


  • Work requires light physical exertion including sitting 67-100% of the time.
  • Ability to seldom lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Duties require the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail 80-95% of work time.
