PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Occupational Therapy Assistant - Acute Therapy for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.  Hourly compensation starts at $25.78, more depending on experience.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA assists in carrying out the treatment plan for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric with musculo-skeletal, neurological, and/or medical diagnoses.

Details of the position:

  • Treat assigned patients following an established treatment plan and goals as established by an Occupational Therapist. Completes patient treatment according to plan of care, modifies plan to meet patients needs within established goals.
  • Maintains appropriate clinical & billing records
  • Assists in the orientation/training of new caregivers.
  • Makes recommendations relative to the acquisition of new equipment & environment of care needs.
  • Coordinates patient care activities with other members of the healthcare team
  • Actively participates in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
  • Licensed by state of Washington as required performing clinical duties as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment

PHSW PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work requires active physical exertion up to 33% of the time.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
