PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA  is seeking a Imaging Film Librarian for a Part Time, 0.50 FTE, Day position.  Hourly compensation starts at $17.61, more depending on experience.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for tasks associated with the management of medical imaging files in the Imaging Department. Duties include retrieval of medical images from PACS digital repository; coordination of the distribution of images upon request using CD’s or other electronic media; and assisting staff, physicians and various departments with their imaging service needs. 

DETAILS OF THE POSITION

1. Accommodates telephone requests for imaging exam reports and CDs in a courteous manner.
2.  Responsible for the timely processing of internal and external imaging requests. 
3. Prepares and imports radiology images for scheduled surgery cases and Radiology conferences.
4.  Reviews and confirms accuracy of all patient information and notifies appropriate parties as needed to correct information. Locates and retrieves images in PACS and updates patient information where indicated.
5.  Organizes and maintains filing system, retrieving and updating files where necessary. Provides copies of reports and images as upon request for physicians, patients, attorneys, nursing units, clinics and conferences. 
6. Works collaboratively with Physicians, co-workers, and patients in a professional and effective manner.
7.  Maintains confidential digital image archive system, PACS, as well as accurate release of PHI.
8.  Assists in the maintenance of department office supplies through ordering processes. 
9. Performs other duties as assigned 

WHAT YOU BRING:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Medical terminology preferred. 
• Minimum of one-year related work experience in an imaging office preferred. 
• Previous imaging or healthcare assistant experience preferred. 
• PACS/RIS knowledge is preferred 
• EPIC/CARECONNECT experience is preferred. 

OTHER SKILLS:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong organizational and analytical skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment. 
• Ability to work with basic office equipment such as telephones, copier, facsimiles, computers, etc. 

PHYSICAL / COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

• Work requires fairly light physical exertion up to 33% of the time.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
• Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
• Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
