We are seeking a Cook with Leadership experience for our Full-Time evening shift, 1:00pm-9:30pm. Compensation starts at $18.87hr, more depending on experience. 

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.

Essential Leadership Functions:

· Coordinate the day-to-day functions of the Food and Nutrition Services department. Assign work, plan and manage priorities for the team. Delegate tasks and projects using established guidelines. Communicate with managers and staff to review day’s activities.

· Assist with ensuring the department goals are achieved, timelines met, and service excellence provided in all areas of the operation.

· Provide direction, reinforce standards, recognize and coordinate the use of leftover products.

· Monitor quality of work and ensure quality improvement goals are achieved. Assist with goal setting for the team. Ensure completion of assigned tasks.

· Able to work independently as the Person in Charge for full or partial shifts. Able to work or assist in any position as needed for full or partial shifts.

· Address schedule changes and adjust labor according to business needs. Oversee staff training and provide constructive feedback. Provide technical assistance and mentor team members. Role model for team members and subject matter expert.

Essential Culinary Functions:

· Use established HAACCP guidelines for safe food handling to plan, prepare, cook and serve food according to recipe and production standards to support the hospital patients, medical staff, caregivers and visitors.

· Must have a working knowledge of all basic food preparation techniques, methods, equipment, and tools used in a commercial kitchen.

· Accurately follow and prepare recipes using proper food handling techniques, and production methods.

· Maintain appropriate records according to regulatory and department standards for food safety and sanitation guidelines.

· Prepare meals according to patient and Café customer orders. Assist with assembly of patient food trays and service of Café customers.

· Performs other duties as assigned.


· Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

· Must be over 18 years old. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Formal culinary training or equivalent experience preferred.

· Advanced food safety certification is required for Leadership positions. Serve Safe or equivalent preferred. Washington State Food Handler Card is required for all department positions.

· Two years leadership experience desired, including both culinary and service operations. Experience in healthcare or full-service commercial kitchen preferred.

· Must be proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

· Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

· Strong customer service skills.

· Ability to work well with others.
